Optimise
Optimise is our approach to improving digital performance continuously – not through one-off changes, but through a joined-up system that combines strategy, insight, operating model and performance optimisation.
The platform is live. The performance is not there.
Fragmented insight
Unclear priorities
Slow decision-making
Optimisation that never sticks
Designed for digital leaders who are accountable for platform performance
Your platform is live but not performing at the level it should
You have data but no clear insight - or insight that nobody acts on
Your team is busy but the progress leadership expects is not materialising
You need to show measurable improvement, not just activity
A 12-month retained programme. Four workstreams. 19 activities
Workstream 1 - Digital Strategy
Digital Strategy - making sure optimisation is focused on the right things
Good optimisation starts with good strategy. We align improvement activity to business priorities, market context, and commercial outcomes - so time and investment go where they will have the greatest impact.
What this includes
- Customer Insights - understanding what your customers actually need, where they struggle, and what drives their decisions
- Competitor Insights - assessing your competitive position and identifying opportunities your rivals are missing
- Digital Vision and Roadmap - defining where you are going and creating a practical, prioritised plan to get there
- Channel Strategy - identifying the right channels for acquisition, retention, and growth
- Digital ROI - linking optimisation investment to measurable business value and making the case internally
- Platform and Technology Direction - ensuring your platforms and technology choices support your strategy, not constrain it
What clients gain
- A clear direction that the whole team can align to
- Confidence that effort is focused on the highest-value opportunities
- A roadmap that evolves as priorities change - not a document that dates immediately
Workstream 2 - Digital Insights
Digital Insights - turning data into decisions
Most enterprise digital teams have data. What they often lack is insight they can trust and act on quickly.
We fix the foundations - analytics quality, tracking accuracy, KPI alignment - so decisions are grounded in reality, not assumption.
What this includes
- Performance Diagnostic - a structured audit of where value is being lost across your digital estate
- KPI Framework - establishing the metrics that matter, aligned to business outcomes rather than vanity numbers
- Data Quality - reviewing and strengthening tracking, tagging, and analytics accuracy
- Insights Activation - translating behavioural and performance data into actions your team will actually take
What clients gain
- Data and reports the team trusts
- Clear visibility of what is working and where value is being lost
- Faster, more confident decision-making
Workstream 3 - Digital Operating Model
Digital Operating Model - making improvement business as usual
Continuous improvement does not happen by accident. It requires a clear way of working - defined roles, efficient processes, and the right tools and governance in place.
Without this, even the best strategy stalls.
What this includes
- Digital Operating Model Design - defining how digital works in practice: roles, responsibilities, and decision rights
- Workflow Optimisation - removing the friction and bottlenecks that slow your team down
- Opal AI and Automation - activating Optimizely Opal to reduce manual effort and accelerate content and experimentation workflows
- Training and Knowledge Transfer - raising your team's capability so they can sustain improvement independently
What clients gain
- Faster decisions and fewer bottlenecks
- A repeatable, sustainable improvement rhythm
- A team that becomes more capable over time - not more dependent on external partners
Workstream 4. Digital Performance
Digital Performance - improving the experiences that drive results
This is where strategy and insight become measurable improvement.
We identify friction in real customer journeys, test targeted changes, and scale what works - building a programme of continuous experimentation and optimisation.
What this includes
- Experimentation Programme - building a structured, ongoing programme of A/B and multivariate testing
- Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) - identifying and removing friction across priority journeys to improve conversion
- Personalisation - delivering more relevant experiences based on user behaviour, segment, and context
- SEO and GEO - improving search visibility in traditional search results and AI-generated answers
- Content Performance Optimisation - improving existing content so it works harder for both users and search engines
What clients gain
- Measurable uplift in conversion, engagement, and digital revenue
- A faster learning loop - ideas tested, validated, and scaled quickly
- Reduced friction across the journeys that matter most to your customers

Common questions we're asked
What is a digital optimisation programme?
A digital optimisation programme is a structured, ongoing approach to improving digital platform performance. Rather than relying on one-off projects, a programme builds continuous improvement into how an organisation works - covering strategy, data, operating model, and performance improvement activities.
How is Optimise different from a CRO project?
A CRO project typically focuses on conversion rate improvement within a fixed scope and timeframe. Optimise is a retained programme that covers the full system - from strategic direction and data quality through to experimentation, personalisation, and SEO. CRO is one of five activities within the Digital Performance workstream.
How long does it take to see results?
Most clients see early performance improvements within the first two to three months. Significant measurable uplift - particularly in conversion rate and engagement - typically becomes visible by month four or five, once the experimentation programme is running at pace.
Do we need to be on Optimizely to work with you?
No. While we have deep Optimizely expertise as a Platinum Partner, Optimise is platform-agnostic at the strategy, insight, and operating model level. The Digital Performance workstream can be delivered on most enterprise digital platforms.
